From where would such exalted longing arise, and where would I go to trade this pain?

How could I have carried the honor of divine love, and how could I have been counted among the beloved ones?

Oh, had I not met You, the palaces and towers within would have remained empty.

The lamp would not have been lit in the temple of the mind, nor would I have known the tenderness of the heart.

The east would never have turned into the west, nor would countless inner realms of beauty have arisen.

My boat would have sunk, and I would never have reached the shores of Divine beauty.

Oh, if You had not met me upon the path of life...

Who would have awakened one asleep, with such a manner filled with compassion and pain?

Who else would feel such deep pain, and be such a dense river of awakened awareness?

In whose eyes would I have read a story of Divine love?
